BEFORE you think you can’t stand winter another minute–you know, when it just seems cold, damp, and all the Christmas cheer seems gone, there’s (ta da!) Valentine’s Day!! A time of pink cheeks, red noses, white doilies, Cupids, and our annual Snowflake Social!

Come and enjoy a time of fellowship or “girlship” with a light supper and a lovely craft to take home presented by our wonderful resident artist, Beth Maurer.

Come share this time to prepare our HEARTS for our Lenten Walk to Calvary, where Christ’s heart was given for us all.

Thrivent Financial will be sponsoring this special event and helping the WELCA Circles provide the craft and light supper, so SAVE THE DATE. You can show YOUR HEART by bringing an in-kind offering of bath tissue, paper towels, diapers, hand or laundry soap, dish detergent, and shampoo which will benefit the Christian Clearing House’s Caring Cupboard. Please be generous!

Please join us at First Lutheran to celebrate the Second Sunday of Epiphany with services at 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. We are very pleased to announce the elevator is once again functional and running. Assisting Pastor Chris Dittmar will share the message from John 2: 1-11, and the Senior Choir will offer “As Long As I Have Breath” for special music during the 2nd service. Food Pantry requests for the Blessing Basket, the new Lutheran Food Pantry at St. John’s Findlay this month are canned fruit, shampoo, bar soap, laundry soap, and dish detergent. These items can be placed in the cart by the elevator or dropped off at the Food Pantry Tuesdays 11- 2 p.m. Pastor Tucker leads a 15 minute midday prayer service at 11:30 AM, Monday through Thursday in the Chapel, for members and people of our community to sit and refocus their day with personal prayer. There will be an OSU Extension SNAP Cooking class in the church kitchen at 2 p.m. on Thursday January 23. Register online through the CHOPIN Hall website to reserve a spot.

  • Maranatha Bible Church (10965 Ohio 613, Van Buren) – Food pantry operates from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Call 419-422-8238 to schedule.

L.I.F.T

L.I.F.T.

Living in Faith and Trust 

L.I.F.T. meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 11:45 in the Fellowship Hall. If you are widowed, bring a brown bag lunch and join in the conversion and fellowship.

Grief is the normal and natural emotional response to change or loss of any kind. L.I.F.T was formed after covid for all the women of the church that had lost their spouse. This is a time of conversation and support for one another. Everyone’s grief is different, but we all share the commonality of Christ being there to guide us in the journey. Several times during the year a special program is planned or a book is reviewed. Occasionally lunch is held at a local restaurant.
